Did you know that in the UK you can complete a day long course called Compulsory Bike Training (CBT)?

This requires you to ride a moped with an automatic gearbox and completing this course entitles you to ride 125cc motorcycle with a manual gearbox. Aged 17 I did just that and, having handed over all the money I had, proceeded to try to learn how to ride a motorcycle around a nearby housing estate. This was a risky decision. Riding a moped is easy, riding a motorcycle requires some skill and knowledge.

Most tree nurseries are the same; if you’re buying a 50cm tall tree whip they’ll assume you have a trowel and a patch of grass to plant in. If you’re buying a five metre tall hornbeam with a three tonne rootball they’ll assume you have a tele-handler, a crane and a good working knowledge of BS 8545 (Trees: From Nursery to Independence in the Landscape).

Barton Hyett Associates assist our valued clients right through the tree planting process.

From selecting trees from nurseries in the UK and Europe, planting them to agreed specifications and hands on aftercare, our expertise and experience ensure the very best results for your tree planting scheme. We can even provide you with an online facility to record your newly planted trees and help you manage them well for you and future generations to enjoy.

Pulling out of the first junction on my newly acquired motorcycle with the dawning realisation that I had no way of making it go where I needed it to was not a nice feeling!

If you’re planning tree planting works with large trees and would value advice and practical support from the experts please get in touch using office@barton-hyett.co.uk .
