We are privileged to be able to support some brilliant charities that carry out tree planting and education with poorer communities in other parts of the world. The SEED Project does fantastic work to empower local communities in Zimbabwe.
In December 2020, Barton Hyett Associates donated £500 towards The SEED Project (SEED)’s tree-planting programme in Zimbabwe. This donation enabled the planting of 100 trees in a village in rural Rusike, Goromonzi district – as part of a woodlot of 500 gumtrees and 1 baobab.
Once mature, the trees will be mainly used to provide a sustainable source of firewood and building poles (both for domestic use and for sale), and for shade. The trees will benefit the whole community, which consists of about 40 households under Headman Mhange.
