Ian Howell

Arboriculturist

Ian is an experienced arborist with a passion for pruning and ancient and veteran trees.  His practical background and hands on approach to tree management makes him a valuable member of the team.

Ian has 15 years of industry experience, many of which were spent running his own Arboricultural Association Approved contracting firm in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Prior to this, Ian’s introduction to arboriculture was a level 2 certificate, gained whilst working for another Approved Contracting firm who were contracted to tend to the many Elm trees lining Brighton and Hove City Council’s streets and parks.

Ian’s focus and drive whilst running his own contracting firm was the management of trees within the public sector and conservation arboriculture, particularly within the management of ancient and veteran trees, and this extends into his consultancy. Ian studied at Merrist Wood College and holds the level 4 diploma in arboriculture.
